THE ORIGINAL WILLIAM T. BOUTWELL HOME

Restoring homes and preserving history is one of our passions at Sharkey Design|Build.  With a rich history and connection to Stillwater and the state as a whole, this home will be restored to reflect its original character on the outside and be visible for all to enjoy and remember its' history.

The home sits on a 1 acre lot and includes an outbuilding that will also be restored as part of the project.  The restored home, outbuilding and lot will be sold as a package.

The images below show the lot in which the home sits on the project site map as well as renderings of the restored home upon completion.

THE PRESERVATION PATH

In 2015 the home was slated for demolition by it's owner; however, the demolition was haulted by HGTV's Rehab Addict star Nicole Curtis.  Recognizing that the house was home to one of the area's most famous settlers, the home and land was purchased by the Washington County Historic Society a few short months after the demotion was halted.

The Historic Society received project crippling news when it was discovered that the home's foundation had collapsed on the west side.  Committed to the project, the Historic Society had the foundation replaced and repaired and also added spray foam to ensure the homes foundation will remain dry on the interior.  Unfortunately the funds needed to complete the repair left the Historic Society unable to fund the rest of the restoration.  Sharkey Design|Build is committed to bringing the home to life, transforming the piece of history into a home for a family to settle in for years to come.

Below are images of the home throughout the years on it's path to restoration, as well as the newly finished home.
